3 Follow-Up Messages That Book the Buyers Who Went Quiet

Most buyers who stop replying were not saying no. They got busy. Here are three follow-ups you can copy, and exactly when to send them.

You sent a great quote. The buyer said "perfect, let me check with my partner." Then nothing.

Most businesses take the silence as a no and move on. Usually it is not a no. Your message got buried under fifty others, the buyer travelled, or they simply forgot. A good follow-up is not pushy. It is a service.

The rules before the scripts

Always add something new. "Just checking in" gives the buyer nothing to respond to. A new detail, a deadline or an easy yes does.

Make the reply effortless. End with a question that can be answered in one word or one tap.

Stop when they answer. If they say no or not now, thank them and stop. You keep the relationship and your reputation.

Use the channel they used. If they enquired on WhatsApp, follow up on WhatsApp, not by email.

Follow-up 1: the next day

Send it 24 hours after your last message. Keep it short and helpful, and remove one obstacle.

Hi [Name], quick one: I have held [Saturday / the 11:00 slot / the car] for you until tomorrow evening so you do not lose it. Shall I keep it for you?

Why it works: it creates a reason to reply now without inventing pressure, and the answer is just yes or no.

Follow-up 2: day 3

By now they have probably compared options. Help them decide by answering the question they have not asked.

Hi [Name], a few people asked us this week what is included, so here it is in one line: [what is included, e.g. crew, fuel, drinks and transfer from Puerto Banús]. If it helps, I can call you for 5 minutes today and sort everything. What time suits you?

Why it works: it adds new information, handles the most common doubt and offers a small, easy next step.

Follow-up 3: day 7, the close-the-loop message

This is the message that gets the most replies, because it gives the buyer permission to say no.

Hi [Name], I do not want to keep messaging if the timing is not right. Should I close your enquiry for now, or would you like me to keep [the date / the offer] open for you?

Why it works: people dislike leaving things unresolved. They will either book, give you a real reason, or tell you when to come back. All three are useful.

What to do with the answers

  • Yes: book the call, viewing or appointment straight away, while they are in the conversation.
  • Not now: ask when would be better, put a reminder in your calendar for that date and message them then.
  • No: thank them warmly and ask one question: "Can I ask what made you decide?" The answers will improve your offer more than any consultant.

Make it automatic

Writing these by hand works when you get ten enquiries a week. At fifty or a hundred, follow-ups are the first thing that slips. That is where an automated sequence, or a trained assistant whose only job is follow-up, pays for itself quickly.

Start with the three messages above. Save them as quick replies in WhatsApp Business today, and set a daily ten-minute slot to send them.
